Miss BCJD Program

So You Wanna Be Miss BC...Miss IOJD

The pageant program is open to all Daughters between the ages of 16 to 20 at the time of the pageant. The program itself consists of a written exam; recitation test; personal interview; and, of course, the pageant itself!

But What Does it Take?

  • Know Your Stuff!
The Job's Daughters of this jurisdiction are full of questions, and it reflects well their representative if she is able to answer them.
  • Think Fast!
As Miss British Columbia Job's Daughter, you will be called upon to make remarks. You should have a worthwhile message to give to the Daughters of this province.
  • Love Your Ritual!
The state of our jurisdiction is such that few Bethels are able to fill all their stations. As Miss British Columbia Job's Daughter, you should be able to help out wherever you are needed.
  • Mind Your Manners!
In a world where glamour is most often exemplified by Hollywood, the Daughters of British Columbia should be able to look to you to provide a better example.
  • Do it for the Daughters!
After all, they are the reason we have a pageant program in the first place. As Miss British Columbia, it is your depth of vision which will guide them through the ensuing year.
  • Put Your Heart and Soul into It!
Being Miss BC isn't all about glamour. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is as demanding as it is rewarding. Remember, the Daughters love their Miss British Columbia, and you should strive to be worthy of their love.

In the Words of Grand Council...

[Duties of Miss BCJD as quoted from the Constitution]

So Why Would I Want to Do This Again?

The pageant, though rigorous, is a great experience. You'll learn more about the Order than you ever thought possible, and get to know like minded Daughters from around the province. The pageant program will also give you a chance to hone valuable life skills which will stand you in good stead after you reach Majority. Besides, the more entrants there are, the more fun it is for everyone involved, and the better our Miss British Columbia program will be.

If you are chosen as our next Miss British Columbia Job's Daughter, just imagine all the fun and friendship that awaits you! The holder of this title is loved and respected throughout the jurisdiction, and, as Miss BCJD, you'll be able to make a great contribution to the Order we all love so well.
