  • 5 February 2010 As most of you know it takes many Volunteers to support the Daughters of British Columbia and to make the organization run smoothly. As the Grand Officers try to plan the committees you often hear adults say afterwards, that’s something that I would have enjoyed doing. We would like to invite anyone who may be interested on working on a committee for the upcoming year. We are presently looking for D.A. Advisors and Ways & Means people for both the Island and Interior. Also there will be many opportunities in the next year including Grand Session committees.  If interested please e-mail Suzanne Stark.

If you can’t commit to this year due to a busy schedule I’m sure the following two ladies would like to hear from you as well. Gail Gilmore and Lorraine Wood.

  • 3 April 2009 - A 30 second radio promotion clip is now available to download from the website. As discussed during bussiness session at the 2009 BC Grand Session, most radio stations will allow a non-profit organization to advertise on-air if the ad is 30 seconds or less. This ad is available for all Bethels to use. Check in with your local radio station and see what they can do for your Bethel!

  • 5 May 2008 - To all Bethels - In 2007, Mrs Adams, Stacey and I registered Job's Daughters in the Partners for Life program with Canadian Blood Services. Did you know that less the 3% of eligible British Columbians actually donate blood. That is people from the ages of 17 - 71. The 3 of us started this program up through the suggestion of our Miss BCJD 2007 Stacey. We enlisted Mrs. McMurchie and with just us made 21 donations last year under the name of Job's Daughters. You can donate every 56 days. We have all seen the commercials and see how much blood is needed and now the name of Job's Daughters of BC will be on the wall's of the permanent donation clinics as a Partner for Life. Now to be listed under BC Job's Daughter all you have to do is register online under http://www.blood.ca/ and register under BC Job's Daughters. We can all do our part in saving a life. Each donation could help 3 people. Please let your friends and families know about this. We have been given a certificate which I will pass on to Grand Guardian Council.

Thanks John McMurchie, PAGG
